5 years later I will read this again
Im confused about my future. I change my mind about it every now and then. Many months ago, I thought I would move out somewhere near any one f the Big 4 firms, so working there would be easier. Because you know, working in Big 4 can pave great roads for oneself, if one is willing to work like a dog. Which I thought I'd sacrifice myself to do so.
A month ago, I thought I should sign up for some management trainee programmes in one of the many banks and MNCs that offer them. Like, I should soak up as much knowledge and experience and shit like that while I'm young right? And they pay good money, from what I hear. And cause the main criteria to qualify for management trainee is "fresh graduate" so I cant do this after some other job.
But then a few days ago, colleagues were talking about work and career and 'if can work in Big 4 then why not mah? Easier to go elsewhere (out of country)'. And also cause now I have friends around EY, PWC and KPMG. I have 'friends representatives' wei. Not that it's all good news cause that still spells competition. But like, audit is the place to learn everything fast, though dogshit work and cheap pay. But if you get good at it, you can, supposedly, go everywhere else.
But you see. I'm not good in details anymore. I dont know the accounting standards enough (I know, I can learn right - but I hate learning them is what I'm saying). And I'm not quick enough.
So like, do I go for common skills job, or specified skills one?
Decisions, decisions. If dont make planning, say I dont know what I want (which is kinda true) and doesnt want it enough.
