Twilight
Vampire romance stories are always intriguing to me, mostly because of the Romeo-and-Juliet spice in it. Forbidden love, and well, there's always a gorgeous, hot, cold-blooded vampire. The danger of loving a man, knowing that you might become his meal any day is kind of a thrill, but nothing infuses the romantic and sensual exhilaration when he suppresses his deadly urges for the sake of yours truly. Plus, they usually have heightened strengths and an aura that simply draws you in. They never age, and they always look beautiful.
I mean, have you not watched Angel (seriously, how can you not love him)?
Interview with the Vampire (okay, this is not so much of a romance, but still the emotions involved is quite fascinating)?
Buffy the Vampire Slayer (back to Angel...)?
Vampires with hearts (and soul?)... they are darkly handsome and dangerously seductive. In a word, s e x y.
But that is simply as heart-throbbing as loving a dangerous/wild man thinking you can change him for your love. Impractical and usually happens in fictitious tales.
See, Sophie's Choice kinda did hint that no man is perfect. Nathan was the perfect creature, except he goes cuckoo every once in awhile.
